Decent handset let down by poor battery life. - 05 Jun 2006

I have had this phone on contract for 15 months, and throughout that period the battery life has become more and more limited from not having to charge it for roughly a week to having to charge every day just to get through below average usage. I have had to revert to an old mobile until my contract is up in order to have confidence that this will last the day.
The handset itself is pretty good, its light, well proportioned and the keys are a decent size for bigish hands. The menu system is easy to get used to and work with day to day and the camera is of very good quality. It has a pretty large memory for videos, pictures, phone book entries and sounds but the whole thing is let down by the battery.

I've used this phone for over 12 months and can give a good review of its abilities. The carriers used here vodaphone and virgin (t-mobile).
Do not buy this phone if u intend to do development work. There is no access to the bluetooth stack, nor the IR port. Buy u do have access to internet services. There is no ability to upload .jar files except by over the air methods (which can cost loads if u've an expensive carrier).
1) INTERFACE: VERY easy to navigate through menus, very fast response time, bright colours. In call menu more difficult to use. overall an excellent interface 9 out of 10
2) IN CALL QUALITY: again excellent. A little quiet for the hard of hearing, nice volume adjustment buttons. 8 out of 10.
3) SOUND QUALITY: Its no MP3 player. mid files do sound good tho a bit tinny. 5 out of 10
4) FEEL FACTOR: the same size as a Nokia 3310, but slimmer and feels quite light. good grippage, clicky buttons have never caused a problem. 7 out of 10.
5) WAP: I used WAP loads thanks to this phone. the inbuilt browser is easy to use, although setting up is more difficult. 6 out of 10.
6) CRASHING: Has only crashed once 10 out of 10
7) CAMERA and VIDEO: rubbish. but until the phone manufacturers start to realise 3.1 megapixels is the minimum requirement for good picture one can't expected camera quality photos from a mobile. 1 out of 10
Overall, 65%
Excellent Phone, Plenty Of Bang For Your Bucks!!! - 07 Nov 2005

I would highly recommend the GX15. This phone has gone along the lines of the Sony Ericsson range, but in my opinion a lot cheaper without any loss in product quality. You can record video, take photos, compose ringtones, transfer data via Infrared and Bluetooth, and of course WAP internet access. That's not even mentioning the Java games. I hardly looked at the manual as the menu is easy to navigate. This is a very stylish, light, feature packed, and well priced mobile to suit most peoples needs. If you don't have a lot to spend, but need features, this is the one for you.
There's only one downside, it's more of a gripe really! Sharp have supplied a CD-ROM with software for the phone, but if your computer doesn't have Infrared or Bluetooth, you'll need to invest in a USB data cable as one's not supplied.

I got this phone last Xmas. It is small and lightweight, has an excelent cam, and does short vid clips too. It looks cool and is easy to use. The camera is brilliant and there are editing features too. If i get a new phone it will only be for a change, not coz i need one.
