When all`s said and done, it`s a phone...... - 29 Aug 2003

A couple of the reviews say it all about some people. Do they want a phone, for phoning people, or do they want a toy, for annoying people? If you want a games machine, buy a GameBoy, unless it`s beyond your abilities to work the thing. This is an amazing little machine, small enough to fit in a pocket, good battery life, very good sound quality, and even in my job as a long distance HGV driver, very capable of holding on to a signal in remote areas. These are the important things you want from a mobile phone, and my little Samsung excels at what it was made to do.

The worst phone I ever had. No games which makes boring train journeys more boring, Text alert repeats every few minutes it's annoying. You can't go to the main menu during a phone conversation. Good for nothing ring tones. Can't receive animated text messages or texts with icons. The total call time counter resets every 24 hours, that is, if you talk for 25 hours in a month then it will show the total time as 1 hour. The phone will make a noise while turning off automatically, due to low battery, even if it is in silent mode, you should be careful in meetings and interviews. Can store only 20 messages irrespective of the size of the message and the worst of all it heats up like an Iron, if you talk for 30 minutes continuously and believe me it will be so hot, you won't be able to keep it to your face. You need not pay this much money for the features this mobile offer.
it only gets points for looks - 20 Dec 2002

Samsung A300 : This phone only gets points for its looks, but looks are decieving. The ringtones all sound the same, nothing special, the text on the screen is to faint even when you muck about with the contrast it dosent seem to make things any better.Text alert makes a anoying sound that dosent stop, every few minutes it reminds you, that you have a text,so you cant ignore it.Being with T.Mobile, pay as you go, disables the internet browsing feature. So if you brought a less attractive mobile you probably get more options for the screen, ringtones, and text alerts, not worth the money !!

This is the best phone I've ever had! It's neat and reliable. The only thing that doesn't make it a 5* is the fact that the new colour display version is much nicer.
