Some disappointing points - 13 Oct 2005

Thought this would be a good replacement for my Samsung A800, liking the clam concept. Fancied a colour screen for a change and the cover is a nice Burgundy colour. The menus were user friendly. Pleased I could keep my number as this was also on T-mobile. So far so good...

Missed my first call which went to voicemail. Pressed the "1" button to retrieve message and got error "Call ended. Bearer capability failed." Ended up going through the long way via Messages to retrieve it. I have since found out that this is a common fault on the C1200. T-mobile can't help and there is no customer support number for LG which I gather is a Korean company.

I'm also puzzled as to why it has a small mirror on the facia. On my A800 you could see the time and who was calling you without opening up the phone.

All in all I can live with the voicemail problem, but I don't think I would buy this model again.

Good basic phone - 28 Feb 2005

The LG C1200 is a good all-round phone. Whilst it lacks many of the extra features of more expensive models (such as a camera), it is ideal for anyone who wouldn't use those features anyway. The battery life is good, and the colour screen is bright enough to be readable in all but the brightest lights. The menus are some of the most user friendly I have come across, and the options are pretty much self explanatory. It is also very small and lightweight, ideal for someone who wants an unobtrusive phone. The only problem I have found is that the ring is a bit quiet, even on the highest volume, and it is easy to miss a call if it is in a pocket or bag. However, this is only a minor gripe, and I would recommend this phone to anyone.
