Plastic and quiet - 16 Aug 2005

This is a truly awful phone.
It's plastic, flimsy and falls apart very quickly.
There are also no ring tones that are actually loud enough for you to be able to hear them if the phone is in a pocket or more than a few feet away from you.
Comparitively EXCELLENT for your money - 02 Jun 2005

Sure, by today's standards, it's a basic phone. It's for anyone who wants to spend £25-£35, wants to make phone calls, wants a light, easy to use set, and isn't fussed with Bluetooth, WAP, email, cameras and all the other over priced bumf you can get today.
I like the way the phone remembers new words under predictive texting, it's easy to use - you can still surf with Orange even on PAYGo if you, like me, want the footy results.
Siemens A60 - 05 Jun 2004

I had a Siemens C45e which gave up after some time. I replaced it with this, my first phone with a colour screen. I was not too impressed when i recieved the phone. I have always used Siemens phones as they seem to have the best features for writing text messages etc, but this phone immediately seemed 'cheap'.
The buttons kind of snap or click unlike the C45e which had a soft quality feel to them. Whether its the colour display i don't know but i found the battery life appalling compared to what i was used to. Okay it could be on standby for a couple of days or something but as soon as you start lighting it up by writing messages or heaven forbid, making a call, that battery seems to plummet.
Aside from these couple of things, it has all the great Siemens features. T9 predictive text is very easy to use (unlike another review)and if there is a word you often use it does not know, spell it once and it is stored. You can also avoid typing long words you have typed before and stored by pressing the first letter then scrolling through the options. Very good.
Great little phone,...sort out the button feel and battery life.
AN EXCELLENT PHONE FOR AN EXCELLENT PRICE! - 18 May 2004

The A60 is my type of phone. Its simple to use and came at a low cost of £39.99 at Phones 4 U, Cambridge near the marketplace. Its all I need, a phone you use to call people not a phone to [play games or take pictures with. ITS ALL I NEED!
Brilliant value for money - 11 May 2004

This phone is excellent value for money.
It has a surprisingly wide range of features for the price. As well as the standard SMS text messaging service you have the EMS messaging service which allows you to send sound as well as text messages. The phone comes with 16 polyphonic ringtones, a number of wallpapers and a number of animations as well as 2 games (Stack-Attack II and Picture Magic which is a virtual jigsaw). The phone is a tri-band phone meaning it can be used in countries all over the world too. One of the best features of this phone is the 101 x 80 pixel colour screen meaning you can view everything on the phone in colour. The phone comes with WAP and this means you can access the internet, download new wallpapers and download ringtones for your phone. The phone also comes with the standard feature on most phones such as alarm, clock, stopwatch and calculator. The phone comes with an orange sim card too meaning you do not have to shell out on a sim card as well as the phone.
The appearance of the phone is ok and you can change the cover with the various coloured clip-it covers. The phone is light and fairly small meaning that it does not feel as if you are not carrying a brick around with you.
The phone does not have as many features and as much technology as many other newer phones on the market. It does not have a camera meaning you cannot take and send pictures on the phone and it does not have Bluetooth either.
This is a brilliant phone for the price especially when you consider it to the similar priced competition. So if looking for a mobile which you just want to use as a phone this is a very good choice but if you want a phone with a camera, Bluetooth and all the other new extras available on newer phones this may not be the phone for you. This phone scores 4 stars though because of its good number of features at a brilliant, affordable price.
