this phone is the best i have ever had!!!! its 1 megapixel camera may not sound alot like all the new one out that have 2 megapixels but it is really good. the buttons on the front of the phone are good for saving your phones battery but can be annoying if you dont lock the keypad! overall this phone is well worth the money as i have just had it for over a year. you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!

Samsung E720 Review - 26 Feb 2007

A word of warning - the sound quality when making or recieving calls is very bad and I would strongly advise you to consider another phone if you make/recieve calls AT ALL.

Aside from that every other feature is amazing.

Great to begin with..... - 24 May 2006

I've had this phone since sept 05 and am really starting to look forward to the day my contract runs out so i can change it! To be fair, there are some great features - good camera, clear pictures etc but there are a lot of faults with it. Firstly, i've never been able to send picture messsges. Secondly this phone does not store words which are not in its dictionary so writing a message takes ages. The camera and video is rubbish indoors, not good quality at all. Also when i ring people they can hardly hear me. And finally, the phone switches itself off for no reason at all even with full battery. If you can live with these little faults then you should get the phone. It does look stylish and has some cool features but i wouldnt't 100% recommend it!

I got this phone for my 12th birthday and love it!!! It has a great quality 1mp camera, video recording, a flash, mp3 player and loads of memory. Ive got something like 400 photos, 10 mp3s and still plenty of memory. I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for quality and style!!! ITS A FANTASTIC FONE!!! BUY IT, U WONT B DISAPOINTED!:)

Is this just a flip phone version of the Samsung D500? - 01 Mar 2006

To cut the story short, the assumption that this phone is basically a flip phone version of the D500 is largely true, except for a few minor differences:

1) The E720, alothough it has quite a large memory of 88mb, is not as much as the samsung d500's (about 7mb more, good enough for an extra 2 mp3 songs).
2) File transfer via bluetooth seems to be much slower for some reason than the d500 was.
3) This has a 1.0 MP Camera, the D500 has a 1.3 MP Camera
4) Doesnt have memo on it

Apart from these, the E720 has the rest of the excellent features that the D500 has, including Integrated MP3 player (slightly better than the D500'S), good picture quality and camcorder recording, easy to use menu systems, Video playback and a lot of other stuff that one may want like Calendar, calculator, world clock etc. One way that this phone is btter than the D500 is the external controls for the MP3 player which makes it easier to use.

However, i have only given this phone 4 stars becuase of the confusion i had about charging the phone. With most other phones, when you plug the phone in, the battery indicator on the phone usually shows if the phone is charging or the progress of the charging. NOT ON THIS PHONE HOWEVER!!! This phone has a light on the charger itself that is red when you plug it into the phone then turns green once charging is complete. My problem is not with this however, it is the fact that the orange manual does not say that this indicates charging progress, and i had to spend my time mucking around thinking that the phone was not charging therefore nearly sending the phone back before i realised that this was the case. I discovered this only after i downloaded a non orange edited user guide from samsung themselves. This was really annoying!
I highly recommend this phone, it is brilliant, but i would do the same as what i did and download the proper unedited samsung e720 manual instead of relying on the useless orange edited user manual!
