well could be a lot better - 04 Aug 2004

I owned one of these for a year about a year ago, and to be honest, i wasnt best pleased with it. It was able to make calls and send text messages effectively, however, the keys are far too small, although the phone is small in length, its very chunky and features such as the thermometer are useless (measured 15 degrees c when we had vast amounts of snow. However, the worrying thing was the amount of faults it had with it. Mine had a new LCD screen put on it, it one day suddenly just came up with a message saying "SEE SERVICE POINT" and wouldnt do anything else, which i took it back and it came back from repair 3 months later, then it wouldnt charge. I then upgraded to a Sony Ericsson phone which proved to be much better than this. There are some places where you can still buy this handset brand new as well as second hand, but i advise you just to steer well clear of it.

3 things I hate about this phone. - 06 May 2004

I have come to really dislike this phone which I got as an "upgrade" from a far more reliable 6210, which I have gone back to using in spite of the fact that I've simply worn it out.
The keys are tiny and unresponsive, the battery life is pathetic, but worst of all is the premise on which it is sold, i.e., the impact resistant casing. the point is that the casing IS impact resistant, but the phone inside clearly is not, and as it floats around (as another reviewer has it) it is surprisingly vulnerable, especially regarding the screen.
Never again!

This phone is just lovely to hold as the casing is rubberised and tends not to slip out of your hand as a lot of others do, its easy to use and very compact, the only problem that I find is its quite difficult at times to switch on and off as the button on top of the phone is so small and often I have to hold the button down for some time before it actually comes on.

Well, there are one or two flaws... - 06 Nov 2003

The major problem with the phone is that shockproof casing. The innards seem to float about within, leading to a couple of related problems: a strange echoing effect both for received and transmitted speech, and a very quiet ring, even with the vibrate function on. I've missed a fair few calls from simply not being able to hear the wretched device in my pocket.
And after a year's hard use, I suspect that the contact between the case keys and the internal switches is not all it could be. Probably better to go for the tried-and -tested earlier models....

This is a neat little phone with some great features; WAP, graphics and automatic key guarding to name but a few.

Not only does the 5210 look the part with its funky rubber casing, it boasts shock resistance, meaning that if you drop it there’s no chance of it shattering to pieces like most other phones would!

So overall this phone has excellent features, although it’s individual look may not appeal to everyone.
