5 Reviews for Nokia 3510i - Orange - Fixed Rate

Great value - like an old friend - 28 Nov 2007

This was my first mobile and I have now had it for about 5 years. It has been dropped, accidently left in a small pool of nail polish remover so the back started to disolve, had tea spilt on it (more than once), and been dropped in a pint of beer (don't ask how) - and after all this it is still functioning. Seeing as my friends, all of whom are a lot less clumsy as me, have all got through several phones in the time i've had mine i'd say it is pretty durable, to say the least (oh and the screen's cracked too)!

This phone is fairly basic - it doesn't have a camera or MP3 player but I have an i-Pod anyway so it isn't really a problem. The menus are really easy to navigate and the phone book lets you save several numbers under one name, which is really useful. The games aren't great but having been driven to Backgammon several times during periods of extreme boredom I am now a pro and completely addicted!

I think i'm going to have to get a new phone now, as it's starting to lose battery power and cut off during phonecalls sometimes, but seeing how old it is and how much it's been through i'd say that's pretty impressive. I'm off to go and do some phone shopping now, but i'd just like to say that this phone has been like a loyal friend to me and i'm going to miss it - and i thoroughly reccommend it.

This is a really good phone for someone who is just wanting a phone and nothing more, it has a colour screen and the ease of use that comes with all nokia phones, but it doesnt have a camera or video camera, or mp3 player, it is just a phone, but a good one at that!

The Nokia 3510i - 17 Mar 2005

In my time, I have had a Philips Azalis, A Nokia 3510, A Siemens MC60, A Motorola A835 and then currently a Nokia 3650.

Upon purchasing the Motorola A835 I lent the 3510 to my aunt. I then used the A835 until it broke and bought the 3650. Short of cash after buying the 3650, I asked my aunt for the 3510i so I could sell it on eBay and re-build my savings.

Until I held the phone again I did not know what I had been missing. This phone is a dream to hold, it's physically phone beauty. It's lightweight, slender and even does well in the feature area.

I only gave this item 4 stars as it does have a slight tendency to crash, the color screen isn't brilliant and the features aren't quite as good as more modern phones (no camera, etc.)

Good for the wallet, and easy on the eye - 18 Oct 2003

Recently i purchased this model, and must admit I was pleasantly surprised. This is undoubtedly a very good phone, especially for someone who is a first time buyer (I my self am 13). It is (relatively) cheap, and comes with a good range of features. while none are top of the range (display, memory, etc), it is still good enough for a discerning teenager (although all my friends have the 7250, grr) it's best features are the polyphonic ringtones, decent games (although it comes with 3 bad ones- sky diver, backgammon, and racket, its easy and cheap to download new ones from orange game services. there's a link on the phone), swappable covers, and blue LED display, which in my view is much better than green orange. This display is also customisable, with the ability to change colours and backgrounds. Finally a, what some might call small, but in my view invaluable, function- you can make custom profiles. For teenagers around the country irritated with having to turn their phones off at school or risk having it on, when anyone can hear it going off (not a good thing in latin), salvation is at hand. With this phone you can change the settings to vibrate only, or beep once etc. This in my view is one of the best features, and the reason i will keep this handset for a long time.
Now, I suppose I must point out a few downsides. One), this is a fairly basic phone. people looking to buy something with a high resoloution, camera etc should be directed elsewhere. Personally I'd recommend the 7250. Two), this is a hefty amount more expensive than some of the other phones aimed at people like us. I think its worth it though.
