5 Reviews for Motorola E365 - Orange - Pay As You Go

good phone for the money - 19 Dec 2004

i have owned the motorola e365 for about 4 months now and have had no problems. I bought it purely as a phone for occasional use and photos and it suits my needs perfectly.
But i would say if u were a regular user and wanted a brilliant picture quality dont go for this phone mainly because it has an annoying problem of working one step slower than you! Also its very basic, you cant download games, and its only takes a slip of the fingers and youve lost your message (highly annoying)
but pluses are: its cheap- its one of the cheapest camera phones about and althogh it has no zoom its ok quality.
durable- ive had mine down the stables and every where and its been no problem yet.

so basically i would recommed this phone to any one that wants a cheap easy to use very basic camera phone. i cant comment on orange because i had the phone changed to fit 02 but friends have told me its ok.

a proper review - 22 Oct 2004

I used to be a nokia girl, everyone thinks you can go wrong with nokia's but after having a 3210 (which i adored) and a 3510 suddenly start losing the battery charge and the sound getting quieter i decided to buy a nice cheap lil camera phone.
for the price I'd say your getting a fair deal.
The camera quality is poor unless your in good lighting and your close to the object, the ringtone sound is loud and you can hear it in most places, the colour screen is large, there IS a ringtone composer but it doesnt give a preview like nokia's so its difficult to use unless your good at music, my phone does tend to stick on pages when Im trying to use it quickly and the menu is a little weird (everything is in funny places) the games are ok and bubble tea is the best but you cant download any! i have many downloaded rintones though! all in all its good if your looking for a cheap phone but next week Im moving to a samsung e600 which has a MUCH better camera with zoom etc!

motorola e365 don't buy it - 02 Sep 2004

i got this phone in august 04 and at first i was chuffed with it o.k. it was a bit larger than other phones but i thought i'd give it a go.The ringtones are crap and the mtv pictures well whats all that about and yet to top it all it broke after just 28 days of having it. i could get no incoming sound even though my callers could hear me. All i can say is it's o.k. for a new sdtarter to mobiles but not for me.Plus if you txt and you press the red button whoops there goes your message and you have to type it all over again.

A disappointing phone - 11 Aug 2004

I bought this phone back in February, deluded by the fact that it was a camera phone at a reasonable price. Within 30 minutes of bringing it back home, however, i began to notice the many flaws...

- My main gripe is the texting. I use non-predictive text, but the facility is unbearably slow and a key pressed more than twice in quick succession will only register as the second character on that key (infuriating when you're trying to key in any form of punctuation!) perhaps I'm too used to Nokia's quick and easy text style, but I've had to slow down my texting quite a bit since using this phone. And yes, as previously mentioned, pressing the red key inadvertedly causes you to lose the whole message. No, I'm not at all happy about this, having had to retype a message many a time.

- The menu is unnecessarily complicated and difficult to navigate. Again, maybe I'm too used to Nokias...but I've had to search high and low for a (you'd think!) fundamental aspect of the phone - the photo album. Instead, you have to navigate several sub-menus before you reach it. It's all too confusing! I've had this phone for six months now and half the phone calls from my contacts play, for some unfathomable reason, a stupid ringtone which I can't remember ever selecting! Is it something to do with which which group they're in, or which profile I'm using? Aapparently not. So why on earth does it keep playing this damned ringtone?!

- The ringtones themselves are tacky, and there isn't a composer option!! Polyphonic isn't all that great when the ringtones themselves aren't up to much!

- The games aren't up to scratch either, apart from magic2, which I have to confess is a little addictive.

- The phone itself is very slow. Admittedly, the more my inbox fills up the more it clogs up the phone, but it does take quite a while to respond even if all you want to do is access your inbox/outbox to read your messages.

So what are the benefits? Well, i suppose i have to grudgingly admit that the camera, although not great, is quite reasonable for a phone of that price (those its not as gimmicky as other camera phones can be). It has WAP, and you can download ringtones, though I haven't used either of these and therefore can make no judgement upon them. Its not a bad looking phone (I wasn't particularly endeared to its appearance before I bought it, but then again I haven't liked the look of most phones that have come on the market in the past year or so. Phone companies seem to be trying to hard to be too clever...and just producing second rate looking phones as a result. Well, thats my opinion anyway!) - at least I don't need to be ashamed as far as its appearance goes.

So there you go. A decidely irritating little phone, though I suppose not entirely without its saving graces. When all's said and done, I'd be happy to go back to my humble little Nokia 3310 (if it hadn't been stolen!) but pride won't let me forgo a phone with a camera and picture messaging! Don't let my biased opinion sway your judgement though - this would be a great little phone for newcomers to the world of texting and picture messaging. I myself am rather nostalgically yearning back to the golden age of Nokia!

rubbish - 27 Jul 2004

This is a rubbish phone. The predictive txt is hard and if you press the red button while writing a txt, it goes back to the menu and u cant get the txt back. It is quite bulky, and doesnt look very nice. The picture quality isnt great.
Dont buy this phone!!!!
