5 Reviews for Sony Ericsson K750i - O2 Pay As You Go Mobile Phone - Black
loved it at first but . . . . - 16 May 2006

having been a nokia user i made the switch to sony for a change really. i loved this phone at first - there are numerous reviews here that list the positives so i won't list them all again. basically it was a smart, fun and easy to use phone. however after about eight months the joystick has totally started acting up and does not go down - very annoying in many ways but especially when texting. i have noticed a few other reviewers have had the same problem and i am not surprised as it felt like a design fault and not just a one off. so if you are planning getting the k750i it is definitely something to bear in mind as it is not ideal to have a great new phone which then stops working properly after just a few months.
Easy to use and classy too - 14 May 2006

This is a hot little phone that is all you could want and more.It also has easy to use keys, and a nice size screen, and for me that is what is best about the phone as is SO easy to use, I might love my new technology but it does not mean new technology loves me especially when it is at all complicated!
You have tons of memory to download some fun games, store your favourite music and naff photos, keep appointments in your mini phone calendar, listen to the radio, set true tones oh and you can use it as a phone too if you aren't too busy doing all of the above.
It also a sleek little number, and fits nicely into the latest craze over here in the UK which is the mobile phone sock....don't ask but it does fit and looks quite nifty too.
Sound quality is good, the hands free speakers work a treat and unlike some other phones on the market with software that has more glitches than Bill Gates underpants, this phone is not one of them.
Not a cheap buy at this moment in time but a good buy if you are a serious cell phone user who wants something compact, easy to use and classy to put up against your ear when you are out and about.
Warning : e-mail does not work on Pay & Go - 19 Apr 2006

Great phone but it is important to know that on O2 Pay & Go, whilst you can access the internet, you can not use e-mail unless you subscribe to O2 Mobile Web. Seems to me that this defeats the object of Pay & Go.
Potentially a great phone but a few really annoying features - 11 Apr 2006

Previously a Nokia fan I was swayed by rave magazine reviews. The plus points are good sound, great battery life, extensive features (e.g. mp3 ) and great camera. However whilst it works with bluetooth headphones it does not work properly with either of my in car bluetooth handsfree kits (Pama & Motorola). Basically with these I cannot get voicedial to work properly - which rather loses the point of handsfree. The other really irritating thing is the type size of incoming texts. I can't read them without my reading glasses - which I can with Nokia. There is no adjustment possible either. Finally the handset died and had to be replaced. For me this was a potentially great phone let down by just two issues - but for me they would stop me getting another Sony.
After six months of use... - 11 Apr 2006

I had been a long-time Nokia user and then a Motorolla user before switching to this phone six months ago. There's always a bit of a learning curve when you switch phone manufacturers but this one was particularly easy to get the hang of.
Your list of contacts is one downward movement of the joystick away from the home screen - similar to Nokia phones. The contacts database allows you to store more than one number for each contact - similar to Motorolla and a big bonus when you have a lot of contacts because you don't end up with a list that's longer than it needs to be. You can also store e-mail addresses, mailing addresses, birthdays and even assign a ringtone to special contacts so you know who's calling without even looking at the phone!
The camera on this phone is terrific. You have white balance (for when you're taking photos indoors with the lights on and you want to avoid that orange look, or for taking shots on cloudy days etc.) You have night mode, macro (for extreme close-ups), a light (handy for those macro shots) and using the 'shoot mode' you can take assisted panoramas and fast frame shots too. This great little phone even lets you record video!
Your K750i is also an MP3 player and radio. I personally don't tend to be too fussy about sound quality when I'm listening to music on my phone, just the fact that I can is a bonus I'm happy with but I do think this phone offers pretty good quality sound.
Memory on the K750i is expandable with a Sony Memory Stick Duo, which is a little card that 'plugs in' to a slot in the side of the phone's body. In addition to the on-board memory, the 64Mb card that come with the phone provides ample space for saving photos, themes, MP3s and files you transfer from your PC. Packaged with the phone is an adapter that you can slide the Memory Stick Duo into, and plug it straight into your photo printer or PC card adaptor for easy access to your photos and files.
Transferring files using the provided software and data cable is easy in theory, once you've understood the way the folders on the phone and memory stick are organised. When the phone is connected to a PC, Windows® recognises the memory stick as a removable disk, locatable through Windows Explorer and separate from the phone itself. I have found maintaining a connection between the phone and my PC to be a little temperamental occasionally, but certainly not to the point of wanting to give up.
Other great things about this phone: Task manager, ability to send a photo directly to a Bluetooth enabled printer, timer, stopwatch, ability to use an MP3 as a ringtone!
Tip: Set your camera's 'Picture Size' to 'normal' if you send a lot of pictures via Picture Messaging. The photos won't look great when you print them but you'll run into less problems with people not receiving the pictures because their phone isn't as good as yours!
