I was given this for christmas, and loved it. it was small, light, easy to use, and had great features. however i cant deny that it crashed several times, and i enede up taing it back and getting a replacement - nothing wrong with that so far, and 2 of my friends hae them and they have worked fine. apparantly there was a few 'dodgy batches'

After buying this phone thinking it seemed perfect for my uses, i was very disappointed. When I turned it off and tried to turn it back on it says 'Contact Service' and will not turn on. This is not practical because if you are visiting the theatre or something and need to switch it off, how will you switch it back on again???!!!'Service' has done nothing to help me so I am left with a phone that will not turn on.....great.

I absolutely agree with the review from K.Martin
I have had this phone for about a year and have suffered the same intermittant problem. During a call or text message it will occasionally do a "white screen of death" Reboot and restart about a minute later.
My phone has got the earliest firmware version and there is no online facilty to upgrade as there is with other nokia phones.
It seems to be a common problem and nokia appear to have done nothing to remedy the issue.
It was my first Nokia phone and I have to say it will be my last. I have now moved back to Sony Erricson. K800i. Excellent!
Do NOT buy this phone! - 09 Mar 2007

I bought this phone last May and thought it was absolutely fantastic, aside from the camera which was only 1 megapixel and could have been better it had everything I needed, loudspeaker, bluetooth, video mode good battery life etc. and then in December it broke.
It would turn itself off in the middle of a phone call or writing a text message, at first I thought it was a dodgy battery but it would turn itself back on and ask for the PIN to be entered-it was almost as if the phone was re-booting itself.
I took it back to the shop where I bought it and they turned off the PIN request and told me it was fixed. That night the phone overheated, I mean you could have burnt your hand on it, and then it just turned itself off and wouldn't turn back on again.
This time I took it to a repair shop, but they couldn't fix it and it had to be sent to Nokia-this took 23days-I had no phone over Christmas!!
Two weeks later the same fault (re-booting) developed, again I took it to the repair centre and again they sent it to Nokia, it was returned 'fixed' after 10days!
3days ago it happened again!!
This time I took it back to where I bought it, but was told I can only have a replacement of the same model-no refund or alternative model offered!
I should probably mention I know at least 4 other people with the same phone who have had exactly the same problem. My best friends' sister got a replacement each time the fault developed-she went through SIX phones before they offered her an alternative phone!!
So it's not just that I happen to have got a faulty one, it is a common problem; and all companies seem to be well aware of the problem-not that they'll tell you this at time of purchase!!
Handset colour is also irrelevant mine is pink, which apparently they have actually discontinued, 2 of my friends have black ones with the same problem.
I would advise you to save yourself the money and hassle-buy something else!!
