after switching over from a 5210 to this phone, i made a very big mistake. it had to go back only after 2 days with an orray of problems, and its replacement wasnt much better either. i also thought that the features i got to use on the phone were terrible. DONT BUY THE 3510 , or the 3510I

i purchased this phone not long ago and loved all of its many features, it was quite cheap on the internet and i decided to give it a try. it was AMAZING !!!! the only let down was that there was no composer which really annoyed me, this phone is worth the money and is great for all types of people but bear in mind that there is no composer for recieving ringtones for free. the polyphonic ringtones are outstanding and take your breath away, it has WAP, amazing games , picture messaging and many many more.......
Nokia 3510i - Terrible... - 17 Mar 2003

I bought this phone a few weeks ago to replace my broken 3310. You'd think a Nokia 3510i would be a great phone at an affordable price. But think again. This phone has so many flaws, I don't know where to start!
First, there is a pain long time turning the thing on. You may have to hold the button down for about 10 seconds to turn it on! Second, colour display isn't all that impressive. A 4,096 colour screen should do some good but it doesn't! There are loads more, like too big size, pathetic loading for games, WAP is not colour, ringtones are only 4 poly, the navigation is more complicated than a 3310, you cannot see the screen after the backlight goes off even in the sun, no animations or screensavers, GPRS is only 14.4kbps, the icons are placed poorly for gaming (the red button clashes with the others while playing the games, so oftenly you'd exit the game!)...
So, after reading this complain, do you think Nokia done well? No way! I am switching to a Samsung, which is more interesting. Overall, I'm not impressed. Go for a better phone.
3510i - simply the best! - 17 Feb 2003

I have the 3510i, which i got around two weeks ago, and it is most definitley the best phone ive ever had! I love the colour screen, as it is such a step up from my old phones i.e 3210,3330 etc. i got it on a contract because there is no way i was gonna pay £170 for it! As much as i was desperate for a new phone, i was very disappointed by the lack of tones and games, so ive had to use all my free minutes downloading more! I now have games like bowling, moto gp and loads more! I am desperate to download more polyphonic tones for it but cant find any worth having!

I actually have the 3510i the newer version of the 3510. I only bought it a week ago but already have a got to love it. And it's such a step up from my old 3210.
It has a colour screen which means u can personalise it even more with funky backgrounds and coloured themes for the display features.
Java games which makes all my mates try 2 nick my fone every 2 seconds 2 play on. The best ones are those which you can download free from Club nokia and other wap sites. Although it's best to turn the game sounds off 'coz 1. they can get abit annoying and 2. They still play even when the fone is on silent. (I found that out to my horror in the middle of a rather boring Graphics theory lesson on Monday)
It can send, recieve and forward MMS Messages and it has a huge inbox for TXT messages.
The polyphonic ring tones are kewl and if u send a normal tone from another fone it turns into a polyphonic one automatically, So I can still have my Top gun ringtone.
The buttons are pretty kewl, well I though even though they are those weird rubber ones and they apparently look weird. I didn't think so.
The only thing which really annoys me about this phone is that u have to push and keep ur finger on the "on" Button so hard and for sooooo long that the tip of ur finger goes numb for 3 hours afterwards.
Overall it is the same as the 3510 but with a number of new and extra features to show off to ur mates but still...it was a pretty gud buy, most colour screened phones cost way in excess of that! Just make sure you have enough money for the rest of the month before you buy it.... like I didn't. Never mind.
