INTRO
I got this phone for £40 in Carphone Warehouse, so cheaper than the price on Amazon.
I was really exited at first, cool phone, wanted a new one for AGES. You get the picture.
PHOTOS
Or maybe you don't get the picture, because the photo quality is so bad. You can't take a decent photograph, it's a shame. Also you can only take 100 pictures.
VIDEOS
Then there are videos. This phone is useless if you want to video something; for a start it (the video recording) lasts for 10 seconds. And secondly you are only allowed 15 of these very short video clips... that sucks.
GAMES
Yes, I know they're not essential, but we all like 'em. Well this phone only has 1 game on it. Rebels, it's called. Well that game is the worsed i've ever played.
TEXTING
Ok, to start with texting is bad. Really bad. You press a key and the letters come up on screen in this box, and you use the arrow keys to navigate which letter you want. This takes forever!
PHONEBOOK
Now, here's the biggest problem of all for me. The phone deletes your contacts at random. This is a big problem as there may be an emergency and I, penrsonally, don't have a good head for numbers! I don't know why it does this, but it's very annoying.
VOICE RECORDINGS
You can't record sound on this phone, which sucks.
SOUND
You can't alter sound, on videos and music. It comes out so loud that I have to muffle it with my jumper. If you are completey deaf, this is the phone for you!
I hope this review was helpful.

Fine, but room for improvement - 07 May 2007

I bought this phone, as it seemed like suych a bargain (bear in mind it has a camera).
It does everything perfectly well you need from a phone, so absolutely fine from that point of view.
However, it takes a lot of getting used to (especially when it comes to sending texts), especially for those who are more familiar with Nokia phones. Also, there is not that much warning when the battery is about to go, which can be a pain.
My other main issue is that when the loud speaker is on, the microphone is switched off, so the other party cannot hear you during a call. This caught me out a couple of times.
Generally this is a perfectly ok phone (with a couple of minor flaws), however I definitely favour Nokia phones, as I find them more user-friendly.

the motorola is a good phone, easy to handle and it it's not too heavy and has great capability.
the only problem i have with it is that in an attempt to save memory it deletes the people in my personal phonebook
and the the bluetooth isn't always good art turning on
but otherwise its an eztremily good phone
Best value phone out there! - 03 Sep 2006

I bought my Moto [...], and after a bit of getting of used to (after being a Nokia user for years) I can say i'm impressed all round. The looks for a start are excellent and very smart - lovely tin/metal case, and I got mine in black which looks even better. Being just a little thinner than the average pen makes it so so easy to put in out of a jeans pocket! The buttons are flat to so theirs no mistakingly pressing any buttons while its in your pocket (apart from the side buttons - lock the keypad!)
The blue backlight is again very smart, and the phone is fairly easy to use - nice menu layout, and clear graphics. The camera is excellent quality - people have slagged it off, but what they fail to understand is that its the phones' screen that makes the photos seem lesser quality. At 640 x 480 pixels, you could easily pay twice the price for a phone with the same quality camera. You can only see the true quality once on the computer (you can download Motorola Phone Tools, I managed to get it free). The 10mb is fine enough. Again, this has had criticism, but what do you expect for around £50? Its fine - photos only take up around 50kb! And even though it can play mp3's, its NOT designed to be an mp3 'player'.
The video is ok, obviously not the best quality for the price, but you can get make short 10 second videos which are good.
It has alot of clever features - the best I feel being the fact you can charge the phone via a computer, or a wall socket, because the phone only has 1 socket on it, that being a mini USB connector. The charge times are fantastic too, and you'll never really need to 'fully' charge it, because when your using your computer, you can simply just let it charge up!
Texting was strange at first - Nokia buttons seem more spaced out, but I'm confident using it now. A great feature is that, like predictive texting, when you type part of a word, like for example "coll" from the word college, the rest of the word will appear in ghost lettering. And by pressing the right button, you can insert the rest of the word, or you can keep texting - very handy! Plus, it remembers common words you use which is even better!
The 'smart' keys are also a great idea. Definately reccomended to people looking for a "next step up" phone. And [...] its surely one of the best value phones on the market, to have Bluetooth, a camera, video, mp3 playback... Get this now!
good phone! - 24 Jun 2006

I bought this phone the other day, becuase I was in need of a new phone. It is easy to use soon as you turn it on, which is good, the predictive text can get a little annoying, but it's easy to change it, and turn it off.
It's a shame this phone doesn't come with a usb mini cable, so I'll need to buy one of those to put music onto my phone or take my pictures off, hopefully that will work!
It's loud so easy to hear where-ever you are.
The photo and video work well, and is clear.
Overall this is a good, smart phone!
