Best Phone I've Had!!! - 03 Oct 2007

I have had many other phones in the past year like the Samusung U600, Nokia N95, Sony Ericsson W810i, Compact 3, Samsung X630 but at last I believe I've found the best phone yet!

I needed a phone for personal and business use. Originally, when the W880i came out I didn't even think about buying it because I didn't believe it had what I need but I was wrong.

The W880i is the slimmest handset I've ever had, it looks quite stylish and fits into any pocket. Unlike the N95 which was quite big, I enjoy the compact W880i.

The W880i can hold upto a 4GB memory card so plenty of storage for music, files, etc...

Im sure you all know that Sony Ericsson's are great for their battery life, the W880i is very good. On average, I charge my phone up ever 7 days and talktime of around 8 hours!!! Compared to the N95 where I had to charge it up every 2 days if not less!!!

Great email function, receive and send email within seconds!!! The W880i retreives the newest emails only where as some phones would retrieve every email in your account - even ones in the trash!!!

Overall, great phone. Meets my business needs during the day, and a stylish and elegant handset in the evenings.

I've moved from an MS Smartphone to this so it was a bit of a culture shock.

The first thing which struck me was the tiny keys. It was like trying to type a message using grains of rice! I was all but ready to send the phone back and get another model, but I soon leanrt how to adjust my keypad mashing style to a more elegant one. Instead of pressing several keys at once all the time - I just do it every-so-often now!

Although compared to what I'm seeing the screen is small, it is still a good quality screen with excellent resolution.

I had a Sony Ericsson a few years ago (A T610) and I was glad to see that this phone has a similar User Interface. This makes it very easy to use, and it is very intuitive. More most options there is an 'info' link to see what that option can do.

This is a walkman phone, and the media player is excellent. The built in speaker is dire (very tinny, no bass) but using the headphone supplied, music sounds great.

So - I might sound a bit over critical of this phone, but it really is a good one, you get a 1 gig memory stick bundled with it, and you won't believe how thin it is.
